Introduction

Welcome to my blog.

I am Isabella Maina, an MPA/ID at the Harvard Kennedy School. I am passionate about gender and economic development and eager to explore more solutions in this space. I am working on a summer internship with Imago, a consulting company supporting grassroots organizations to build capacity and achieve scale. We will be work with SEWA a trade union of low-income, self-employed women based in India. The objective of the project is to develop an understanding of what works to increase the viability of women-led social enterprises and their effectiveness in bringing benefits to participating women.

Thanks to the generous support of the Women and Public Policy Program’s Cultural Bridge Fellowship at Harvard Kennedy School, I’ll be working to help women develop a toolkit to identify key constraints to their businesses and finding quick turnaround solutions that they can quickly test, take to market and reiterate on.
